As you move through your herd of goats keep an eye on their feet , some goats have feet maintenance issue s . The reasons can be feed intake '' too much '' always makes the feet grow. It is then time to grab your foot shears . Be careful to cut the outer edge flush. Just like human finger nails not to deep, they will bleed then limp around alot.dig out all the debris and cut away the excess nasty stuff youll know what doesnt belong. On the rear of the goats heel I dont cut much at all if you get the heel wrong you can throw the goats feet out of balance and it will start to effect its pasterns. The cut hoof should never be into pink , stay in the white if you start to see lines of red in the white of the hoof you are too deep .
